ServerSentry
Terms & Conditions
Terms for ServerSentry subscriptions, software, trials, digital services, self-hosted deployments and the optional Ban Network.
Last updated: 2026-10-02
1. Provider and scope
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern contracts for ServerSentry between Mario Rauch, trading as ServerSentry, Am Grettert 9, 6460 Imst, Austria ("ServerSentry", "we", "us") and the customer. They cover the website, customer portal, monthly subscriptions, self-hosted software, optional managed services, software downloads, licensing and the optional ServerSentry Ban Network.
Mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in the country of a consumer's habitual residence remain unaffected where they cannot lawfully be excluded by agreement.
Optional Google Analytics measurement is not required to purchase or use the service and is activated only after consent. You may reject or later withdraw that consent through the website's Cookie settings without affecting your contract. Details are provided in the Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility and customer status
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into the contract. ServerSentry may be purchased by consumers and business customers. If you purchase for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.
3. Account and Discord authentication
Dashboard access uses Discord OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure and for limiting organization access to authorized people. You must provide accurate account and checkout information and notify us of material changes that affect contract performance.
4. Contract formation
Product and pricing pages are invitations to place an order. You select the configuration, review the recurring monthly amount and required consumer information, confirm the required declarations and continue to Stripe. A paid contract is concluded when the checkout is successfully completed and we accept the order by provisioning access or sending the contract confirmation, whichever occurs first. We may reject an order before acceptance for objective reasons such as unavailable products, failed payment, fraud indicators or technical pricing errors.
5. Prices, taxes and payment
Prices are shown in the stated currency and recur monthly unless the product page expressly states otherwise. Payment is processed by Stripe using the payment methods Stripe makes available for your location. Any tax that must legally be charged will be treated according to the applicable tax rules and should be reflected in the checkout or invoice where required. ServerSentry does not represent that every worldwide sale is VAT-, GST- or sales-tax free.
The Austrian small-business VAT exemption is used where it is legally available. Cross-border tax treatment can depend on customer location, thresholds and registrations. The payment/invoice data generated for a transaction forms part of the contractual record.
6. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
Paid ServerSentry plans are monthly subscriptions. Unless cancelled, a paid subscription renews for another monthly billing period and the recurring amount shown at checkout is charged through Stripe. You can cancel at any time with effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless mandatory law provides a more favorable right.
Cancellation does not require a ServerSentry login. Use the public Manage / Cancel Subscription page to access Stripe's email-and-one-time-passcode customer portal, or contact [email protected]. Contract cancellation for future billing is separate from the statutory consumer right of withdrawal.
7. Seven-day trial
Where offered, the seven-day trial includes the base platform and one Game Server Agent and does not require a payment card. The trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. It is configured to end automatically; you must deliberately start a paid subscription if you want to continue after the trial.
8. Digital service and downloadable content
A subscription can include continuing digital services (such as account, licensing and dashboard functions) and downloadable or containerized software supplied electronically. Product access, installer/container access and entitlement depend on the purchased configuration and an active license.
During checkout, consumers are asked separately whether they request the service to begin during the 14-day withdrawal period and whether they expressly consent to immediate supply of downloadable digital content and acknowledge the resulting loss of the withdrawal right for that digital content once the statutory requirements for that loss are met.
9. Consumer right of withdrawal
Consumers generally have 14 days from conclusion of a distance contract to withdraw without giving a reason, subject to statutory exceptions. Full instructions and the model form are available on the Withdrawal page.
If you expressly request that a service begins during the withdrawal period and later withdraw, you may owe the proportionate amount permitted by law for service already supplied up to the time of withdrawal. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the withdrawal right expires after supply begins only where the statutory conditions are met, including your prior express consent, acknowledgment of the loss of the right, and contract confirmation on a durable medium.
Nothing in these Terms limits a statutory withdrawal right. Refunds required by law will be provided. Additional goodwill refunds may be granted at our discretion and do not create an ongoing entitlement.
10. Software license and server binding
Subject to payment and these Terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use ServerSentry for your own community or organization during the subscription term and within the purchased Agent or hosting limits. Licenses may be bound to installation IDs, organizations, Agents or other deployment identifiers required to enforce the purchased entitlement.
You must not sell, sublicense, share license credentials with unrelated third parties, remove technical protection, or bypass license and entitlement checks. Mandatory statutory rights to interoperability or other permitted acts remain unaffected.
11. Self-hosted deployments and customer responsibility
For self-hosted deployments, you control the server, PostgreSQL database, retention settings, connected DayZ servers and third-party integrations. You are responsible for a lawful basis, transparency, access permissions, retention and handling of player/community data processed in your deployment. ServerSentry's central account API does not routinely receive that local telemetry merely because the product is installed.
Where ServerSentry processes customer-controlled personal data on your behalf, the Data Processing Agreement applies to that processing. It does not convert independently controlled processing, such as the optional central Ban Network, into processor-only activity.
12. Ban Network
The Ban Network is optional. If you submit a ban, you must have a lawful basis for the submitted Steam64/BattlEye identifiers and moderation information, keep records accurate and relevant, avoid unnecessary sensitive or unrelated personal information, and handle player challenges or corrections responsibly.
A Ban Network list set to public is readable by other authorized ServerSentry customers with Ban Network access. Do not mark a list public unless that level of sharing is appropriate and lawful. ServerSentry may remove or restrict data that is unlawful, abusive, clearly inaccurate, excessive, or creates security or legal risk. Player privacy information is available at /player-privacy.
13. Optional AI and third-party integrations
The installed product can support optional locally configured AI tooling and integrations such as game-data providers, Discord or payment/community tools. These are enabled and configured by the customer. When a customer chooses to send selected data to an external provider, that provider's terms and privacy rules apply and the customer is responsible for the configuration and lawful disclosure. ServerSentry does not centrally send all self-hosted player telemetry to an AI provider by default.
14. Statutory warranty and updates
Mandatory statutory warranty rights, including rights under the Austrian Consumer Warranty Act (Verbrauchergewährleistungsgesetz – VGG) where applicable, remain unaffected. We will provide updates, including security or functional updates, to the extent required to keep a digital service in conformity with the contract and applicable law.
15. Service changes, maintenance and availability
We may perform maintenance, security changes and reasonable feature updates. Continuing digital services may be changed only in accordance with the contract and mandatory law. No uninterrupted uptime is promised unless a specific written SLA states otherwise. Planned maintenance, hosting/provider incidents, game/API changes and security measures can temporarily affect availability.
16. Support
Standard support is provided on a best-effort basis by email or the designated support channels during Monday to Friday, 08:00–19:00 Europe/Vienna, excluding Austrian public holidays. No guaranteed response or resolution time applies unless separately agreed in writing. The public phone number in the Imprint is for general inquiries and is not a support hotline.
17. Acceptable use
You must not use ServerSentry to distribute malware, phish for credentials, unlawfully surveil people, send spam, attack systems, unlawfully disclose personal data, evade third-party platform rules or use the service in violation of applicable law. We may proportionately restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, infrastructure or legal compliance, taking consumer rights into account.
18. Intellectual property
ServerSentry software, branding, documentation and original service content remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Except for the license expressly granted by these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred. Customer content and customer-controlled data remain with the respective rights holder.
19. Suspension and termination
You may cancel a paid subscription as described above. We may terminate or suspend for material breach, non-payment, security abuse or legal necessity after appropriate notice where notice is reasonably possible. Mandatory consumer remedies and rights to data or refunds are not excluded.
20. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct, personal injury where applicable, mandatory product liability and mandatory consumer rights. For business customers, liability for ordinary negligence may be limited to foreseeable damage typical for the contract to the extent permitted by law. No such limitation applies where mandatory law provides otherwise.
21. Complaints and alternative dispute resolution
Send complaints to [email protected]. If a consumer dispute cannot be resolved directly, we will provide the information about the competent alternative dispute-resolution body and our participation position required by the Austrian Alternative Dispute Resolution Act (AStG). We do not use the discontinued EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
Austrian law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, to the extent this choice is permitted. For consumers, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections that apply under the law of your habitual residence. Statutory consumer jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.
23. Changes to these Terms
The version accepted at checkout governs the concluded contract unless a lawful later change is agreed or permitted for a continuing digital service. Material changes will be communicated in advance where required. The current public version is identified by date/version: 2026-10-02.
